Overview:

With the increasing global mobility of university students, many international students are choosing to study in countries other than their home country. In this article, we will focus on the number of Chinese, American, and Russian students pursuing higher education in each other's countries. We will also discuss the living expenses and gun laws of Russia, and analyze the number of international students studying in China.

1. Chinese students in Russian universities

In 2019, there were around 24,226 Chinese students studying in Russian universities according to the Chief Analyst of the Russian Agency for Education and Science, Wilarskoro Bogaatova. Chinese students have become the largest group of international students studying at Russian universities since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

2. American students in Russian universities

Contrary to popular belief, only around 1,400 American students are studying in Russian universities according to the same source. Russian universities, like other higher education institutions, offer a number of programs for international students, including internships and language courses.

3. Living expenses in Russian universities

Living expenses in Russia can vary depending on the region, with dormitory rooms generally costing between $30 and $120 per month. The dormitories usually offer solo, double, or triple occupancy rooms, and may include shared or private kitchens and toilets. Students can also choose to live in off-campus apartments, but the cost will generally be higher.

4. Gun laws in Russia

In 2013, Russia’s gun laws underwent a significant reform. It is now easier for Russians to own guns, with citizens who have no criminal record now allowed to own firearms with a barrel not exceeding 5.6 mm in caliber. However, owning a firearm for self-defense is still prohibited in Russia.

5. International students in China

According to a statistical analysis, in 2011 the number of international students studying in China from most to least was: the United States, Russia, India, Thailand, France, Vietnam, Japan, and Indonesia. With the increasing quality of education and cheaper living expenses, more and more international students are choosing to study in China.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the number of Chinese students enrolled at Russian universities has skyrocketed in recent years, while the number of Americans studying in Russia remains relatively low. Living expenses in Russia vary depending on the region, and the gun laws are relaxed in comparison to other countries. In China, more international students are studying than ever before.
